As much as I complain about the winters here in Michigan, fresh snow sure does make for pretty photographs. Tyler and Kimberly were such good sports during this shoot. The day we could get together was of course, one of the coldest days right after ringing in the new year. And I’m not exaggerating – it was 11° and with the windchill factored in, an absolutely frigid -4°. I give so much credit to Kimberly for standing out in those conditions in a thin and strappy little wedding dress. Of course, I also attribute her ability to handle the cold with a smile to her being Canadian! Even though the session was really short (”Coats and scarfs off, *click click*, “Put them back on, let’s go over here!”) we got some beautiful shots of these two gorgeous people. How delicious are those Fujifilm reds against the white and green?! Love.

This was such a sweet and intimate event and it was such a joy to be there documenting the marriage of these two love birds. I’ve known Tom for quite some time now, as he is the older brother of my sister’s high school sweetheart husband. There was no denying how smitten he is with Lisa, his gorgeous bride. Here are a few personal favorites from the evening. Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day, guys. ♥

Some of you may recognize this couple and for good reason. Rachel was one of the beautiful Bridesmaids in my wedding just a few months ago! She and Rob have been together for some 8 years now and it was just so fun for me to finally photograph them. Even after so many years, you can still feel the love and affection oozing out of them when you’re close. The emotion just radiated from their eyes and smiles.
We started the session off a little dirty and rough! A bit of a departure from my usual style, but I loved it.

Three hours before our shoot, I get this text message from Rachel, “Um, your newest pictures are adorable. Can we end up on a beach??” So, because I love her AND love shooting on the beach, we headed down to the water. We were racing the sunset and some lady taking photos of sea gulls kept getting RIGHT IN EVERY SHOT I SET UP, and we pretty much missed it. But, I managed to snag a few photos before the sun completely disappeared behind the trees. And they are actually some of my favorite photos. So, thanks for asking for the second location, Rachel. Love you guys!
